I’ve written a lot about printed photo albums over the past few weeks. This week I’m sharing a few more ways to print and enjoy your favorite family pictures. There are a lot of options out there, and there is much more to consider than traditional framed prints!
Also, I’ve said it before but I’ll share again here: Mpix.com will always be my recommendation for a great place to order prints, photo albums, and other photo display products.
Wall Art
Hanging prints on the wall is a great way to personalize and decorate your home. It’s also a great way to make sure you see your favorite photos every day! The most common styles of wall art are framed prints and canvas gallery wraps, but there are other options too. I have “standout” prints hanging in my living room, which are prints mounted on sturdy foam board for a clean, modern, 3-dimensional look. Metal and acrylic prints are also becoming popular.
I have an entire post dedicated to wall art. Check it out for inspiration and tips if you decide to create your own wall display.
Ornaments
If Christmas is your thing, look into printing a favorite image on a Christmas tree ornament. If you do this every year, you’ll be able to see your tree filled with images of your family through the years. These also make great gifts!
Magnets
I don’t know about you, but I can always use another refrigerator magnet. Magnets are a fun way to see your images regularly, while also being less expensive and less of a commitment than hanging a gallery of wall art in your living room.
Tabletop Displays
I have two cats and a toddler, so I don’t have pictures sitting on tabletops at home, but you can set up a display on any flat surface—a mantle, a high shelf, the top of a cabinet, or on your desk at work. Small framed prints are always a solid choice. Acrylic blocks are another fun option. If you have a large surface to cover, mixing and matching print sizes and frame styles can create a really fun display.
Digital Picture Frames
These have been around for a while, but they’re still a convenient way to display photos for viewing without taking up too much space in your house. Digital frames store the digital images you load or sync to them, and display them on a looping slideshow. Many are now WiFi enabled, which makes it really convenient to transfer photos to the frame from your phone so you can add new pictures as often as you want. Digital frames are an easy way to make sure you see your favorite pictures on a regular basis.
This concludes my blog series on photo albums! I hope you found something helpful in these posts over the past few weeks. As you can probably tell, I love photo albums and I really believe they are not only valuable now, but that they will be even more so in the future. But even if albums aren’t your thing, or you aren’t able to make time to create and print one right now, I hope you can find some way to see and enjoy the photos you take of meaningful moments.
If you’re just realizing it’s been a while since you updated your family photo, there is still time left while the weather is warm to schedule a family session. And if you or someone you know is getting ready to start their senior year of high school, now is a great time to start planning a senior portrait session. Contact me now to get on the schedule for August or September sessions!
